New revelations have come to light in the murder of gangster Prince Tewatia in Tihar Jail. The quarrel started immediately after Tewatia shot Ata-ur-Rehman and then both sides attacked each other with sharp weapons in which Prince Tewatia died, while three including the assailant Ata-ur-Rehman were injured. Prisoners were injured.
Investigation has revealed that the accused had themselves made sharp weapons from everyday items in the jail. Harinagar police station has registered a case of murder in the matter. The prisoners involved in the incident are currently admitted in the hospital. Here, after the post-mortem by the panel of doctors, the police handed over Tewatia’s body to his family members.
This is how the incident happened: According to jail sources, Tewatia abused Attaur Rehman when the prisoners were being sent to the barracks. Attaur Rehman protested but Tewatia kept abusing him. After this there was a scuffle between the two. Prisoner Vinay came from Attaur Rehman’s side, while Bobby came from Prince’s side and started fighting. During this, the prisoners started attacking each other with sharp weapons. In the attack, Prince sustained injuries on his chest, abdomen and pelvis, while Attaur sustained injuries on his stomach.
Was it just a quarrel or a conspiracy to murder: The police is probing whether Tewatia’s murder was just a quarrel in the jail or it was a conspiracy. Police sources say that Prince Tewatia was earlier a member of Rohit Chaudhary’s gang. He later joined Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang and jailed Rohit Chowdhary feared that Prince was plotting to kill him.
Here Prince had friendship with Attaur Rahman. But Rohit brought Attaur Rehman into his camp and persuaded him to kill the Prince. Two-three days back, Attaur Rahman had even beaten up a servant of the Prince. Since then there was a dispute between the two.
Wife accused the jail administration
Prince’s wife, who was present during the post-mortem, accused the jail administration of ill-behaving with her. He told that he had also complained about this in the High Court. He alleged that the prince was murdered in a conspiracy in the jail. Demanded for its investigation. He told that in the afternoon he had talked to Prince on the phone.
The prince had asked to bring clothes. Everything was fine but after three hours suddenly the news of his death was received. Prince’s wife is five months pregnant. The prince had spoken of coming at the birth of the child. After getting the dead body of her husband, she started crying bitterly.
